We at H.S.4.U. respect the rights of our clients and applicants to privacy. As we are committed to keeping you informed this privacy policy summaries how we collect, disclose, use and handle your personal information. You may at anytime obtain a copy of this privacy policy from our office or web site. PERSONAL information is information or an opinion about an individual. It is part of our requirement as an agency providing home help that we collect personal information and we are bound by the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988(Cth). Personal information would include information in regards to your medical history, telephone number and address, it will also include information given to us by you on the application form, we will hold this information for the purpose of processing your application. We will also collect information from former employers, work experience and qualification checks. SENSITIVE information is defined as information or an opinion about an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or practices and criminal record. CLIENT information is also collected to enable us to place service providers. This may include your name and address, details of children or person to be cared for, food preferences or allergies, physical or other disabilities and details relating to the job. Your personal and sensitive information may be disclosed to potential and actual employees or clients of H.S.4.U., also for reference clearance, to staff members within H.S.4.U., our insurers, and any person with a lawful entitlement to obtain the information, also any Workers Compensation body. Sensitive information will only be disclosed to H.S.4.U. senior management or if we are legally obliged to do so. ACCURACY: If you want to gain access to and correct the personal information we hold about you, or if you do not want to receive any further information from us please feel free to contact us. H.S.4.U. take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. However this only applies at the time of collection, use or disclosure of the information. We will correct personal information if the individual to whom the information relates establishes that it is not accurate, complete or up to date. We may need to impose a moderate charge for providing access to personal or sensitive information. SECURITY: HS4U take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse, loss, and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
